I doubt that Dylan is a “conservative.” But his comments over the years show him not to be a liberal either. His songs are not anti-war or liberal songs per se, “they are based upon an almost unerring sense of human nature and a remarkable ability to ask questions that provoke revealing answers in the listener.”

I disagree with “pistolpete” who says that such masterful story tellers can’t ever be labeled liberal or conservative. Tom Wolfe, Saul Bellow, Norman Mailer, and John Updike are all self-identified conservatives, and their work reflects this. Steinbeck is most definitely progressive. Twain was outspoken in his support of Lincoln and radical-Republican ideas.

From what I’m told, 9/11 doesn’t count for one of two reasons. (1) Mass murder by our own Government doesn’t qualify (2) Even if a terror group from the middle east were involved, it doesn’t count because they had good reason to attack us.

Very funny that all the main stream commentators are spouting their mouths off about finding a way to profile the type of person who would shoot up a school. But when it comes to profiling the type of person who might kill 3,000 folks with a plane — well, that just ain’t right.

I think that every concerned citizen should contact their representatives in congress to petition the Ethics Committee to investigate the malfeasance of Mrs Pelosi — who persistently violates the Manual of Rules of the House by not doing her official duties. Also, I believe the House Democratic Caucus should force her to resign.

Despite my skepticism about the global warming craze, I consider myself pretty responsive to environmental issues. Who doesn’t care about the environment? I mean really.

Anyway, I made the switch to paper long ago. One additional environmental perk involved is the fact that I use the old paper bags as trash baskets in my room. This saves me from using larger plastic bags when filling my trash barrel.
